Thinking about registering for the Lip Sync Battle?? Here’s some stuff to know first:
Registration is done electronically via SVCYOUTH.org – you don’t need to register to watch the show!
There are limited spaces available to perform. If too many registrations are taken, we’ll have to start saying ‘no’ – so get in quick!
Everyone in your group must be an intermediate or high school aged student (i.e. 11-17 years old).
You must check in by 6:45 p.m. on the night of the show or you may not be able to perform.
We kick off at 7, and run till 9:30 – you don’t need to perform the whole song, in fact keeping it under 3 minutes would be best!
You are responsible for all of your own props. This includes instruments, microphones, etc.
All music must be provided to the Lip Sync Committee by August 20. Once you’re registered, we’ll get in touch with more details.
All songs and performances must be in good taste! Let’s keep it clean.
Amateur performers only. No professional groups are allowed to perform.
The competition will be judged in these categories:
Lip Sync Abilities: How well the performer(s) lip-sync the lyrics of the song.
Creativity: How original and creative the performance is. Instead of just standing on stage and lip-syncing a song, props, costumes and/or other ideas should be used and often impresses the judges and generates crowd response. Be creative!
Stage Presence & Choreography: Again, don’t just stand there! Engage the audience, dance, smile, make eye contact with the judges…have fun!
